Two Minds

A rather ordinary life he lived
Nothing special; and quite nondescript
Not a thing extraordinary, and nothing strange
As if everything was pre-arranged

But he then stood helpless before the power of luck
He was utterly helpless in the moment when disaster struck
Then a transformation of such magnitude unknown before
Blew away all minds; they knew not what lay in store

He did it, but he did not
Something mysterious was going on, unexplained
Something inside him that wasn’t there before
Was now growing unrestrained

He is himself, but he is also someone else…

He was there when it happened, but he wasn’t there too
He had heard stories before, but now he knew them to be true
He was as powerless as in the moment when it all began
Now pulling his strings from within him was another man

He was taken over by the other ‘him’ when it became extreme
He never remembered even as faintly as the shadow of a dream
The battle with himself had now ensued
He tried not to let the inner force intrude

The other ‘he’ now realized that he knows
He has now acknowledged the presence of the foe
He now knows there’s a war to be won
But seems caught in a web of power craftily spun

The battle ended on that fateful day
The inner force simply tossed him away
He was now no more but he continued to stay

he was not himself, but was someone else
